Krachai is a relative of ginger root and has milder flavour than ginger and galangal. It is one of main ingredients in Thai curry pastes. Its tube shapes like finger and has brown skin which has strong and distinctive aroma. You can find pickled krachai from Vietnamese supermarket and it is usually used in these popular recipes.
