Quick and easy fried taro recipe for Asian favour appetizer

200 g or 1/4 head of taro
1/4 cup tempura batter
1/3 cup ice water
1 cup vegetable oil for deep frying
1/4 cup plum sauce
1. Peel taro skin (wash after peel) and shred.
2. Mix tempura batter with ice water, stir until well blend. Then add shredded taro to the batter, mixing thoroughly.
3. Heat oil in a wok on medium heat. When oil is hot, spoon taro batter about 1 full tablespoon, make round batter by using 2 spoons and add in batches.
4. Deep fry until taro crisp and golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
5 Serve fried taro with plum sauce for dipping.
